Well, it’s been a little while since I had mentioned that I had started work on a new album. Alot has happened in the last 2 years since the release of New Roots. My wife Kate and I have been blessed with a healthy and happy baby girl, Noelle, who will be 2 years old in June. I had played very few shows during this time until more recently, partly because of wanting to spend less time away from the hustle and grind and more time at the beach cooking out with friends and family and enjoying all the little things each day. Balancing time between my 9 to 5, family time and writing and recording a new album has been tiring at times but well worth it on all accounts. I’m excited for many big things in the coming year and have also had a growing urge to get out and perform more frequently again and really share a positive music and message that I feel people need now more than ever.
Cali Love is the name of the new full length album and I’m very excitied to be working with some old friends from previous works as well as some brand new faces that will definitely add an edge to the new tunes. I’m once again teaming up with my good friend Andrew Mencher of Wisdom and Sound to craft this new set of 17 tunes. He has been as instrumental in this undertaking as he was on New Roots. We also used Capricorn Studio in downtown San Diego again to record much of the drum tracking. This time around I’m recording most of the album in my home studio and have the pleasure of having several great guest musicians and vocalists grace the studio with their unique sound and flavor during the sessions. There’s alot more to share and some that I can’t let you in on quite yet because I’ve gotta save some surprises right? Needless to say I’m excited and reenergized in the making of Cali Love and really hope that you guys-my friends, family, fans and brothers and sisters in this lifetime, will be blessed by this project as things unfurl in these months leading up to the release.
